From the moment we arrived at your pretty house we felt at home. The delightfully serene colour palette and pretty accessories made it feel like home. Everything you require is catered for with a very well equipped kitchen and super outside areas The top deck overlooking Apremont, its Chateau and church, is an enchanting plaxe for aperos and late drinks. We have had a lovely holiday and thankyou Tony for looking after us so well. Nothing too much trouble. We have already booked for next year. Thankyou so much — Carolyn and Penny , 24 Jul 2022

September 2021 We have loved being in Maison Bleu and Apremont. A huge thankyou for your help support - wonderful hosts. The house is well equipped and lovely decor. We really felt at home. The area is so interesting and we enjoyed the lake and the restaurant; And St Jean du Mont as recommend by Chloe was a great beach day and something we haven't done for a long time. The perfect view from the garden while having supper and an evening drink whilst watching the birds settle for the night in the Chateau tower was so calm. The Boulangerie is amazing - wonderful bread and delicious tarts. And the Spar shop has everything you need for your holiday including a very good delicatessen counter. All in all just pefect - already booked to next September and looking forward to it. Thank you Ann and George Marchand — George Marchand , 10 Dec 2021

We stayed at this gite in August 2021 for three weeks. Perfect location on the edge of Apremont with a great view of the church and chateau from the garden. Very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed and more. Owners (Natalie and Tony) were extremely helpful and a good source of local knowledge! We’ve already booked our return stay! — Sarah and Alan , 27 Aug 2021

This was a beautiful character cottage with great amenities and a good spot in the beautiful village of Apremont. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend — Suzanne Fox, 10 Aug 2020

A beautiful peaceful cottage nestling into the hillside next to a pretty river beneath the beautiful church and the 15th century Chateau. The owners are lovely, polite and welcoming. 100 yards away is a fantastic bakery where fresh croissants can be obtained daily and a small supermarket which had everything we needed. 300 yards a way was a lake with a beach complex, this had boats, pedaloes, paddleborads and inflatables for entertainment plus a kind of one ski water skiing on a zip line which looked great fun. There was also 3 restaurants in the village with bars. The best thing though was that this cottage was dog friendly! Thus our little pet could come too! Great holiday 10 miles from super beaches yet away from the hustle of the Vendee coast. — David Reece, 04 Aug 2020

— Corrine, 17 Jan 2020

The location is in a lovely area, about half an hour from a beach, with great views of the local chateau, but based on a rather awkward bend. The house itself is lovely, quite small, but well designed. There are quite a number of small objects on display that could cause a problem if young children were staying, and we felt it is geared up for 4 people rather than 6. There is a pleasant garden area at the back with a stunning view. We enjoyed out time at Apremont discovering the local beaches and places of interest, especially Puy du Fou. — Susan Worsh , 18 Nov 2019

Fantastic holiday cottage run by excellent host who could not do enough to make sure your holiday runs smoothly. Lovely gift of wine and biscuits upon arrival and the cottage was even better than the pictures on the website. Very well equipped with comfortable beds and lots to do in the local area made this a great week for our family. Lovely lake and restaurants nearby and beaches within a thirty minute drive. I would certainly recommend as been to many cottages in France and this one is up their with the best. Thank you to the host who were helpful and at the same time left you to enjoy your time at the cottage. Lovely village setting with plenty of things to do in the local area. Thanks for a lovely week. 😁😁😁 — Tim Carthew , 18 Nov 2019

Highly recommended! Set in a beautiful quiet village, overlooking a castle with a small shop, boulangerie and a few restaurants all in walking distance, not to mention the lake beach, this property is a perfect setting for a family who want to avoid the crowded tourist areas but still want to enjoy what the Vendee has to offer. The listing on the website is accurate and it was even better than it looked in the photographs. As a self catering let the kitchen had more than enough equipment and there was always a choice of outside places to dine when eating at the property. Our young children loved the accommodation as we did, and we felt this was a safe environment for children. Our hosts met us at the property to show us round, returned to wave us off, and were easily contactable and informative if required. The property was clean and very well presented. Our favourite beach was Dunes 1 near Bretignolles sur Mer, but also enjoyed a number of varied days out including local historical sites. — Stuart Borrill , 18 Nov 2019

We were delighted with the property, it was all that we had hoped for, and fantastically equipped. The village was charming and the chateau in the middle was magnificent. The owners, Natalie and Tony were very, very helpful and hospitable and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would recommend this property to anyone. — Christine and Derek Watson, 17 Nov 2019

10 / 10 Torgard 3 November, 2018It's a house with real character, clean and nicely decorated. We visited in late October, the house was warm and with the gas stove going, was really cosy. It's location in the town is perfect. Close to the river and it's swimming beach, and a small shop just across the bridge. The view from the Garden decking is magical, especially in the evenings. You can look across the river to the Chateau D'Apremont on the left with it's flock of rooks wheeling between the towers and the Eglise Saint-Martin on the right.Owners were helpful and many thanks to them for helping us out with our car difficulties. As we were out of Season most attractions were closed but we expected that. There's good wave surfing 30 minutes away and plenty of good walks.Would love to visit again. I'm curious to see what the town is like in the summer season. — Torgard, 03 Nov 2018
